Phillips to the effect that Elizabeth Ferguson is the only surviving child of his sister Elizabeth Ellis who died 5 July 1842 leaving no Will or other instrument by which Elizabeth Ferguson might be disinherited, and that she is the lawful wife of Mathew Ferguson of Salford, Lancs., book keeper. Signed by - W.R. Phillips Witnessed by - Hugh Almond, a Master Extraordinary in Chancery.
