Administrative History | Cheshire Q.M. was established in 1668, and in 1783 united with Staffordshire Q.M. to form Cheshire and Staffordshire Q.M. This meeting continued until 1854, when Cheshire and Staffordshire were separated, and Cheshire united with Lancashire to form Lancashire and Cheshire Q.M. The Society of Friends, or Quakers, was established in Cheshire by 1668. The Society is organised in a hierarchy of meetings: Preparative Meetings are grouped into Monthly Meetings, which are in turn grouped into Quarterly Meetings, and finally, at national level, there is the Yearly Meeting.
