Administrative History	A chapelry in the Lancashire parish of Prescot from 1728, which in 1859 became part of the parish of Farnworth St. Luke. In 1875 it became a parish church, serving the Lancashire townships of Great Sankey and Penketh, which were transferred to Cheshire in 1974. For later records, see also Penketh.
