Description | In February 1873, the Education Committee of the Council, which had been established in 1870, met school managers to form a committee to raise £2,000 to provide additional school accommodation in Chester in order to avoid establishing a school board. This committee was to comprise clergy and ministers of all denominations as well as members of the Education Committee. The School Accommodation Committee met until August 1876, when it was declared unconstitutional since it had been formed as an enlargement of the Education Committee, which had ceased to meet in 1875. |
