In May 1836, the committee became responsible for the lease of annual rack rents and was named the Repairs and Lettings Committee. The Council appointed a City Lands Committee in March 1837. These two committees were amalgamated with the Markets Committee in January 1838 to form the Corporate Estate Committee, which in November 1877, was absorbed by the Improvement Committee.
