DescriptionThis committee was established by the Council in September 1850. It had been preceded by a number of short term special committees, the first appointed in 1841. Minutes of the River Dee Committee were recorded separately after September 1858. The committee was variously described as the River Dee; River Dee and Parliamentary; River Dee, Parliamentary and Water Supply Committee. Its main interest was in Acts of parliament affecting the river Dee and water supply. In November 1877, the committee was merged with the General Sewering Committee. The records comprise a minute book; letters, petitions and reports; plans on the improvement of the river; and volumes of soundings.
