Description | A special Sanitary Committee was appointed by the Council in October 1848. The first surviving separate minute book dates from December 1867. In August 1872, the Sanitary Committee recommended that a committee be appointed to implement the provisions of the Public Health Act, 1872. It was therefore superseded by the Public Health Committee. The records comprise a minute book; letters and papers; and complaints and notices made under the Act of 1848 for the removal of nuisances and the prevention of disease. |
