Description | Minutes of special committees established by the Council were kept in a series of minute books dating from 1840-1940. Minutes of special committees from 1945-1961 were recorded in the Emergency Committee Minute Book (CCB/201). From 1961, minutes of special committees were kept in the annual volumes of Council and committe minutes (CB/12-33). Special committees were appointed to deal with a wide variety of subjects and include the Royal Agricultural Society Meeting, 1843; cattle markets 1844 and 1849; Dee Bridge, 1850; Smallpox, 1851; Roodee Gas Company, 1856-1857; Muniment Room, 1856; Boundary, 1867; Sewering and Public Health, 1891; Rating, 1926; Historic Attractions, 1935; and the presentation of addresses and reception of royal visitors. |
