Administrative HistoryAdministrative History
Purchased from Mrs. Martha Hamilton, 1880.
Part sold to B.O.S. Investments Chester Ltd., 1967.
This property comprised four dwelling houses and shops on the west side of Frodsham Street formerly Cow Lane, opposite the entry leading to the Commercial Hall. The Corporation purchased the premises for conversion into an entrance to the horse-fair, which they were to establish in the paddock of the Hop-pole hotel, also purchased from Mrs. Hamilton in 1880.
According to ZC14C/42, these properties were demolished for street widening purposes, and Frodsham Street re-numbered. The present Nos. 15-21 Frodsham Street are not therefore the properties referred to in these deeds. ZC14C/41 refers to conveyances of 21 January 1915, 15 September 1924 and 26 September 1924. These are no longer held by the Corporation, and may have been handed over to B.O.S. Investments Chester Ltd., in 1967
