This Corporation property, leased to various tenants, was used mainly as a timber yard in the nineteenth century.
It comprised land, 17,450 square yards in extent, in the triangle made by the City Walls, New Crane Street, and the London and North Western Railway. Chester Corporation obtained Ministry of Health approval for the sale, and it was bought by the Governors of the Queen's School for conversion into a sports ground
