Administrative History | Administrative History Purchased from Sir George Greaves and Baron Max Fichard, 1882. This property, now demolished, was originally owned by the Richards family. It consisted of two slaughter houses, later used as stables, which in 1882 were unoccupied, and were bounded on the north west by the cattle market, opened in 1849, and on the south west by the Gorse Stacks. The property was purchased by Chester Corporation under powers conferred on the Corporation by the Chester Improvement Act, 1845, and Public Health Act, 1875 |
