Administrative History | Administrative History Purchased from Charles Williams, cotton broker in 1891. These properties, originally forming one messuage, dated from at least 1611 and probably earlier. During the 1830s, part of the premises were the offices of Edward Cunnah, solicitor. An attempted sale by auction and subsequently by private sale in 1842 were unseccessful due to the probable cost of extensive repairs. They were converted into two separate messuages by 1883 and in 1891 were purchased by the Corporation. They do not appear in Kelly's Directory of Cheshire, for 1892 |
