Administrative History | Purchased from the executors of E. Peter Jones, decd., in 1962, and transferred to Cheshire County Council in 1974. The land comprising Greenbank was consolidated in the early years of the nineteenth century by Joseph Bozley, esq., who built Greenbank House c.1812-1825. The house was enlarged prior to 1842 by John Swarbreck Rogers, a subsequent owner E. Peter Jones, the last private owner, directed in his will that the property be sold to a local authority for the purposes of adult education. In 1955 the property was included in the Provisional List of Buildings of Architectural or Historic Interest under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947 |
