2 In the deeds up to 1811 inclusive Frodsham Street was known as Cow Lane.
The property in Frodsham Street W. side was described in 1742 as lately erected ZC179C/6-7 It is described for the first time as being known as The Red Lion in a deed of 1821 ZC179C/32-33 in the Conveyance of the property to the Corporation of Chester in 1915 it is described as being formerly used as a public house known as The Red Lion ZC179C/40
