DescriptionThe oath taken on admission into the freedom to be changed from the accustomed one to that in use in the City of London. Marginal note that this resolution cancelled by order of the Privy Council.
In future no freeman to pay toll on corn in the City.
Admission of Richard Markes, cooper, paying £10, and Nicholas Brenes, shoemaker.
John Aldersey the elder, merchant, disenfranchised for sueing Roger Smith, merchant, in the Exchequer. (Note to effect that cancelled by order of the Council April 26th. 1574 - deleted.).
(ZA/B/1/137) Former orders concerning collection of fines are reaffirmed; the four sergeants are now ordered to collect the money, on instructions from the Sheriffs; the latter are to be allowed the amount of the fee farm rent, certain customary payments, and half the remainder; they are also to have all profits of the Pentice Court, without accounting.
