Description | March 20th. Admission of Edmund Gamul, who is to marry Mrs. Elizabeth Goodman, [widow] of Alderman William Goodman. In obvious expectation of a large amount, it is resolved that he decide his fine himself. No allowance to be given to John Shawe for the repair of [Water]gate Street. June 20th. Order of Jan. 13th. 1576 concerning the collecting of fines and payment of the fee farm rent, is reaffirmed; the Sheriffs are to be considered as collectors only. The request of Peter Newall, merchant, for support and financial backing in his efforts to obtain some special trading licences from the Privy Council, for the benefit of the City, is considered, and agreed that he shall have the advice of the Recorder, and a grant of £40.
