TitleSuit to Earl of Derby; ban on purchase of foreign goods

DescriptionSuit to be made to the Lord Lieutenant, the Earl of Derby, for the retention of the hundred armed men, provided on his instructions for the defence of the City; or, failing him, that suit be made to other members of the Privy Council for the same purpose, and also for licence to trade to Denmark. Thomas Lyniall, merchant, and William Aldersay, Treasurer, are chosen to represent the City in these causes.
William Glaseor, Vice-Chamberlain, is requested to write to the Earl of Leicester to obtain certain ordinances made by him, at present at Carnarvon.
No person to buy any imported goods, until they have been at the Mayor's disposal as common bargains, for ten days.
