TitleElection; rebuilding of Buttershops

DescriptionApril 6th. Election of Richard Rathburne, merchant, as Alderman, in place of William Massy.
May 2nd. The City having purchased the Buttershops from Leche (who purchased them from William Mordant Esq. and Agnes his wife), resolved that the present buildings be taken down and new ones built; a committee appointed to supervise the work.
On the receipt of a letter from Farnworth, agreed that Robert Hitchmow be schoolmaster there (Christopher Goodman also recommending him.).
