The appointment of Edward Wright as one of the sergeants by Sir William Hatton (to whom the gift appertains) is confirmed. William Colly, servant to Thomas Case, attorney at the Chester Exchequer, and William Geste, roper, late apprentice to Ellis Johnes, ironmonger and roper, to be admitted paying respectively 40/- and 20/-. A fine for the breaking of a bond (entered by Ellen Hurste, widow, for ale-selling), to be remitted in consideration of the smallness of the offence. The proposal to have a "scilling" for the City, deferred until the next Assembly. Jan. 3rd. Election of Thomas Dannold, glover, as Councilman in place of John Chalner. Thomas Marks, cooper, son of the late Richard Marks, cooper, to be admitted paying as an apprentice. The auditors are urged to complete their work. |
