DescriptionMarch 29th, 1523. Copy of Signet letter; from Richmond. Owing to the needs of the City's own defences, no inhabitant to be pressed for service elsewhere except on the receipt of special instructions. A true copy of the original, made by John Newhall, Clerk of the Pentice.
Oct. 22nd, 1547. Copy of a Royal Commission to the Mayor (Ralph Goodman), and eight other persons, instructing them to inquire, in fairly general terms, into riots, unlawful assemblies, etc.
