TitleOrders re appointment of Councillors, re sale of beer, re carters' charges
Date12 Oct 1552
DescriptionIn spite of former orders, Common Councillors are still being chosen by the Mayor alone, and suitable candidates are in consequence often passed over. Therefore former orders are confirmed, and also, if any Mayor attempt to elect in future without reference to the Assembly, his candidate's appointment to be automatically invalid and he himself to pay a fine of £10.
Brewers to sell their best beer at 4/- per barrel, each barrel to contain thirty six gallons (fine, 20/-).
Carters not to charge more than 4d. for bringing goods into the City from the New Tower, and proportionally more or less from other places.
