TitleCompany of Carpenters; fines; resignations and appointments; elections

DescriptionJohn Parry, carpenter, should have two men and no more to work at his trade; and he should pay the Company of Carpenters 4s. a year, as was formerly ordered, and should pay his men as other journeymen.
15th June, 1660. Members of the Assembly, absent without reasonable excuse, to be fined according to former orders.
A letter was read from Richard Haworth, esq., resigning (ZA/B/2/128v) his office of Alderman, owing to old age.
Thomas Throppe, merchant, was restored to his place of Alderman in the stead of Richard Haworth. Thomas Cowper the elder, ironmonger, was restored in the stead of the late Alderman Jonathan Ridge. Each was to hold the place of Alderman and Justice of the Peace as fully as in the past he had or might have done.
Thomas Ashton, beerbrewer, was discharged from the Common Council of the City because of his frequent absence from Assemblies.
