Description | Petition of John Adlington of Adlington, co. Lancaster, gentleman, who having spent his time in his Majesty's service and 'particularly in this Citty when ye same was assalted by the enemye,' on returning to the City had married a freeman's daughter and widow of a late member of the House. He prays to be admitted to the freedom. Note that he was to be free paying 'tenn pounds with Bucketts and other duties.' |
