Description | Petition of George Baggott, Swordbearer, stating that at the beginning of the war he had endured about two years imprisonment in the Northgate, about which time his workhouse and goods were accidentally burned, and his house, and goods contained therein, burned and spoiled by the party who then commanded the City. He asked to receive the benefit of the Butchers' Shambles as his predecessor, Edward Fitton, had done. Note 'Mr Bagott is by the Maior voice to have the Shambles.' |
