Description | Petition of John Aldersey, ironmonger, stating that William Fletcher, draper, deceased, by a lease of 3rd Oct. 1614 was possessed of half a shop in Northgate Street under the Pentice which was and is in occupation of the petitioner for three lives, which half part of the shop was assigned by Fletcher to Aldersey, 1st March 1622. One life of the term remains:- Frances Fletcher daughter of William. By a lease of 17th April 1644 the petitioner held the other half of the shop for the lives of his grandchildren, Thomas, Rebecca and Mary Hunt. He also holds a little shop under the Pentice, in the occupation of John Caddocke, feltmaker, by lease of 9th October, 10 Ch.I, for 21 years of which 2 remain. He pays 54s. p.a. rent. He asks for a new lease for three lives of the shops. Note of voting. It was to be granted for a fine of 20 nobles. |
