Description | Petition of James Fletcher, stating that for some years past he had lived in the City and been employed as a clerk in the Custom house and, about four years ago, he married a freeman's daughter. Lord General Fleetewood Lord Deputy of Ireland, noticing his faithfulness to the Commonwealth and having heard of his civil carriage and demeanour in the City, wrote to the Mayor for his admission to the freedom.
