Description | Petition of Henry Coe who for many years has been tenant to the City for a little house by the waterside in Handbridge, partly built by his brother and finished by himself. He had paid 2s. p.a. to Mr. Hughes and to Mr. Mottershed when each was Treasurer, as Mr. Bagott, the Swordbearer, who collects the City rents, well knows. He is two years in arrears and is willing to pay but Alderman Minshull, Treasurer, has found in some book that the rent was 4s. p.a. Note: '2s. rent ordered to be paid & noe more.' |
