Description | Petition of Martha Sproston, widow, and Robert and John, her sons, stating her late husband, Robert Sproston, Alderman, possessed a piece of ground with a little shop thereon, in Northgate Street, 18½ feet long, between a house now in the holding of Mr. Humphrey Phillipps and the way leading to St. Peter's Church, and 20½ feet in length westward from Northgate Street, by a lease for years, paying 40s. yearly rent. She asks a lease for three lives or a term of years. Notes: 'A to lease to the peticioners for their lives paying for fine £6.13s.4d. & 40s. rent;' 'the premisses to be veiwed before any lease graunted;' 'lease for (three livesdel) or 21 yeares graunted to the pet.
