Description | Petition of Thomas Bolland, joiner, stating he has lately purchased a house with the row belonging to it in Bridgate Street near 'the Starr' from John Fletcher of Marley, gentleman, and has set up a bench for him and his servants to work on. He complains that the Flax Market has been moved to his row, and that it also bars light to the shop of William Ledsom, tailor, his tenant so that they cannot work on market days. The beast market before his house every market day also causes great trouble. He asks that the flax market may be removed to its former site. Note: 'deferred till next assemblie;' note of voting. It was agreed to move the market. |
