Description | Petition of the Company of Linen Drapers, stating that on the petition of widow Bennett the Linen and Cloth Market was moved. This is inconvenient and because of lack of room some of them had to stay in the old place so the market is divided. Alderman Jonathan Ridg has built his shop in the new market place and there will not be room to contain his wares, the linen and woollen markets. They ask that the markets be returned to their accustomed places. Note of voting on motions re the same. It was decided that the market should extend from Peter Sproston's door to 'the miter.' |
