TitleAssembly File (Part)
Date19 March 1657-1658
DescriptionPetition of Thomas Pulford stating that he has spent the ten pounds allowed him for repairs and nearly six pounds more upon the house. Much of the house and outhouses are out of order and the barn ready to fall. The land being worn out he has had the expense of manuring, marling and ditching, so that he cannot afford to spend more nor dispose of the tenement without necessary housing. Upon his application the Mayor appointed Sheriff Bristowe to view the premises, and a carpenter with him, whom he desires may report to Assembly on the ruins and repairs. He asks that on the premises being put into repair he may have a lease. Note: that on this condition he may have a lease for 21 years under the yearly rent now paid.
