Description | Petition of John Parry, carpenter, stating that he had lived in the city for twenty years and had, in right of his wife (who was born within the City liberties), certain houses and tenements in Handbridge which were burnt in the late wars, he having been in his Majesty's service. Contrary to an order of Assembly that he and his men might work at his trade in the City, paying the Company of Carpenters 4s. yearly, members of the Company prosecute suits against him and hinder him from working. He asks to be admitted a freeman. Note of voting. It was agreed that he be free paying £4. |
