Description | Petition of Richard Wright, Underkeeper of the Northgate, stating that the prison is in great decay: the main timber being rotten in many places and shrunk out of place and the walls so weak and decayed that they may be easily broken down as shown by a late escape. He asks for its rebuilding and repair. Note: that certain Aldermen were desired to call workmen, consider what should be done, and report to the next Assembly. |
