Description | Petition of Nathaniel Basnet, apothecary, that he was elected Councilman at an Assembly on 27th July 1668, and appeared in the Pentice and took the oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy and declared himself willing to take the oath of a Councilman, but it was denied him as he could not subscribe the Declaration. At the next Assembly he was fined 40 marks. He asks that it be remitted or reduced. Note of voting. His fine was to be moderated to £20, upon his petition and a letter from the Earl of Derby. |
