Description | Petition of the Company of Glovers, stating they have made much of their profit by selling fell wool, both that they buy and pull from the skins. Lately, Robert Cooke, a baker in the City, who is not a member of the company, has obtained wool from Ireland to sell, retail and wholesale, to their damage. Mr. Ratcliffe advised them to obtain an order of Assembly for their company to have the sole sale of wool in the City, with a penalty to be levied by distress from all offenders. Note: Not granted but left to take their remedy at law. |
