Description | Petition [of Randle Minshull] that he might have the Tolls of the Bridgegate as he had been granted the Tolls of the several gates by order of Assembly of 1 Oct. 1662. In 1663 £200 of Owen Jones' legacy was laid out on the purchase of the Bridgegate and it was ordered that £12 should be paid out of the profits of the gate to the uses named in that will. Minshull let the gate to Mr. John Johnson for 3 years, rendering £20 (£12 as above and the rest to the petitioner). In the mayoralty to Alderman Willcock, Minshull was turned out and the gate was let to Johnson at £16 rent. Note of order. |
