Administrative HistoryA Boys' school was opened in June 1869 in Linenhall Street and a Girls' school in January 1870 see Fowler op. cit. p.137. An application for a grant from the National Society was agreed upon condition that the school was brought into union. In January 1934 the two departments were merged into one mixed school. The children and teachers were transferred to other schools to make way for the demolition of the building in connection with a slum clearance scheme in March 1939.
