Administrative History | A School was opened in the Village Hall in Blacon in 1930. In 1936, when Blacon became part of the City of Chester, Blacon School was transferred from the Cheshire Education authority to the control of Chester City Education authority, and a new school, designed by Charles Greenwood, City Engineer and Surveyor, was opened in February 1940. It was a junior and infant school until a separate Blacon Infant School opened in 1953. In 1972 Blacon Junior School was reorganised as Blacon First School and is now Blacon County Infant School. |
