Administrative History | Provision for the education of children in hospital in Chester was made following the receipt of Ministry of Education circular 312, which was discussed at a meeting of the City Education Committee on 9 Oct 1956. After discussions with the secretary of the Hospital Management Committee, an Education Committee meeting on 13 Nov 1956 resolved to ask Mr. F. Dutton, headmaster of Hoole School, to visit hospitals and submit recommendations. Mr. Dutton's report was considered on 15 Jan. 1957, when it was resolved to appoint a full time woman teacher to undertake the education of child patients in the City Hospital. A full time teacher was appointed in 1957. |
