TitleBrook Lane, Chester
Date1973
DescriptionPlans to re-construct self service petrol filling station and canopy, car wash, store, lubrication bay, shop and toilet block at Newton Park Filling Station, Brook Lane, Chester for Total Oil ( Great Britain) Ltd Queens House, Queen St., Manchester. M2 5HR by N.K.Wain, Dane Heights, Claylake, Endon, Stoke-on Trent. Approved 18.12.72. On 23rd May 1973 an application was made to erect a new lighting unit over the existing petrol pump island at this garage, but in the opinion of the Local Planning Authority the only purpose of the proposed Structure is to give illumination to the pumps and to prove a further means of advertising. A parallel application for the advertising matter has been refused under the Advertisement Regulations and because of that decision there is no reason for the Structure to be erected. Any illumination that should be necessary can be provided by a much simpler method with less detriment to the amenities of the predominantly residential area. Refusal dated 23.5.73. 15744.
