| Description | Administrative history: The foundation stone for Chester Market Hall on Northgate Street was laid on 8 April 1862 and the building was completed in July 1863. Subsequent extensions and improvements included an extension in 1882; the addition of a vegetable market to the rear of the Town Hall in 1886; and a fish market in 1898. This collection comprises plans, elevations, sections and specifications of the original building and the later extensions. The building was demolished in 1967. |
