Refers to art, architecture, inhabitants, landscape, local customs, executions, Barbary corsairs, galley slaves, Jewish ghetto and Siamese twins at Regio, etc. Comprises 44 surviving pages; some have been removed and one damaged. Commences Mar 1719. Volume contains later insertions: philosophical notes, in pencil, 20c; transcription of Latin verses, in biro, 20c; 'journal of three months of our late servant', in pencil, ?20c; note of events of one week, Jul 1829; notes of book titles, 18c; notes of travel costs, 18c; note by Godfrey, 18c; draft letters, 18c; notes on the incarnation, sacrament, prayer, with spiritual verses and thoughts, c1829.
