Articles of Agreement; in consideration of an Acquittance by party 1 to party 2 of £420 which party 2 owes him, party 2 covenants to assure to party 1 an estate in all party 2's lands etc., in the county of Chester except those which lie within the towns of Stopford [Stockport] and Moberley [Mobberley], to the use of party 2 for life then of his first, second ... seventh sons in order and their heirs begotten then on his daughter Frances and her issue; and party 2 agrees not to lease any of the demesnes of Worthe [Worth] or Shrigley [Pott Shrigley] without party 1's consent and reserves the right to make jointure in the estate and to assure 5 marks per annum to his younger sons and to assure 400 marks for the preferment of every daughter and to make leases for 21 years or three lives.
