Covenant to lead the uses of a Fine to be levied at next Assize or General Sessions for Pleas at Chester to Sir Peter Legh Kt, John Savage, John Warren, Robert Huyde, Henry Eccleston and Robert Langton, Esqs, and John Masterson and John Davynport Gents. Roger Downes covenants to convey 40 messuages, 40 tofts, 2 mylns, 2 dowrehouses, 40 gardyns, 2,000 acres of land, 80 acres of heath and turbary, and 40 shillings in revenues, in Woorth [Worth], Poynton, Taxall [Taxal], Adlington, Torkynton [Torkington], Kettelsholme [Kettleshulme], Vpton [Upton], Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] and Potteshrigley [Pott Shrigley]; in Trust, to use of Roger Downes for life, remainder to his heirs male down the the heirs male of his eighth son remainder his daughter Frances. Provisos: reserved right to Roger Downes to lease any lands except the demesne and capital messuage of Worth under terms of Statute of 32 Henry VIII, and reserved right also to dispose upon termination of lease of lands in Vpton [Upton] now held by Thomas Stapleton of Markstocke co. Staffs.
