Ratification of a Deed 18 January 1577 whereby at the request of his father in law and his cousin Warren of Poynton and his cousin Hide of Norberie [Norbury], Roger Downes conveyed to Randulph Standley of Alderley countie of Chestr [Chester] Esq an estate in all Roger's freehold messuages, lands etc in Worth, Pointon [Poynton], Adlington, Taxall [Taxal], Vpton [Upton], and Maxfeilde [Macclesfield], in trust for the maintenance by Randulph out of the profits thereof of Randulph's sister Elizabeth Roger's wife and all such children as might be begotten, which arrangement was made in consideration of Roger's intention to serve in Her Majesty's wars.
