Admittance (Fine £6. 13. 7.) in pursuance of a Surrender 21 December 1620 by Henry Maynwaringe Esq grandson and heir of Henry Maynwaringe of Caringham Esq dcsd survivor of trustees, Francis Downes Gent, John Warren Gent, and Dorothy his wife, Thomas Hampton Gent, and Mary his wife (these being daughters of Roger Downes late of Shrigley [Pott Shrigley] Esq dcsd); to all the lands etc in Pottshrigley [Pott Shrigley], Bollington, Hurdesfield [Hurdsfield], Sutton, Winckle [Wincle], Ranow [Rainow] and elsewhere within the Forest which were conveyed in trust by Surrender 14 December 1573 by Roger Downes late of Shrigley [Pott Shrigley] Esq dcsd in the Halmote of Macclesfeld [Macclesfield] before Peter Legh Kt dcsd then deputy for Henry late earl of Derby then steward for the late Queen Elizabeth to John Savage Esq son and heir apparent of John Savage Kt, Hugh Choulmondley Esq son and heir apparent of Hugh Choulmondley Kt, John Warren of Poynton Esq, Ranulph Davenporte of Henbury Esq, Henry Maynwaringe of Caringham Esq, Henry Eccleston of Eccleston Esq, Robert Langton of Lowe co. Lancs Esq, Thomas Stanley of Alderley Esq, Robert Hyde of Norbury Esq, and Ranulph Stanley Gent son and heir of Thomas Stanley to uses specified in Indentures 14 December 1573 between the parties to the Surrender - except the lands in Sutton occupied by Richard Sutton Esq and in Bollington by Hugh Normansell and John Pawnall and in Pottshrigley [Pott Shrigley] the lands called Ryddingcarre occupied by Roger Downes yeoman, the annual revenue from which is reserved to Roger Downes.
