Assignment of Lease created by Indenture 26 December 1652 by 1. Peter Leycester of Nether Tabley county of Chester Esq to 2. Thomas Lingart, being a lease for 99 years or the life of Margaret Lingart grandchild of Thomas and of John and Mary Hough son and daughter of Roger Hough; assigned in consideration of £150 paid by party 2 to these presents to Peter Leycester as part of the consideration of the afsd lease for the remainder of the term of lives. The estate passed is in a messuage and tenement in Ouer Alderley [Over Alderley] county of Chester held by Thomas Lingart with all appurtenances except the bodies of timber trees and is to be held by party 2 to Uses viz;- those parts thereof held by Randle Lingart son of Thomas, dcsd, and fields appurtenant called The great Shakoe flat adjoining the house end, the gorst knowes, all the Cowper croftes, half of the great meadowe, the highfield, the Birchfield, the shortbuts, and the hill before the house doore, and the Marldefield adjoining to the Birchfield, in trust for securing £150 to be raised from the issues thereof; the rest of the premises to use of Thomas Lingart for life; thereafter the whole estate to use of Margaret Lingart. Proviso that if Thomas or Margaret pay off the £150 the whole estate to be held in trust for rest of term to use of Thomas and/or Margaret; further proviso (endorsed) that Margaret Lingart from the death of Thomas and until she marries is to have the use of "that Chamber in the East end of the house wherein Thomas now lyves and the Chamber over it" and the use of fire in the house and a yearly allowance of £4 out of the estate.
