Lease upon consideration of £60 and the surrender of Indenture of Lease (made 6 May 1636 -- 12 Chas I -- by William Downes late of Shrigley [Pott Shrigley] Esq dcsd to Roger Wood late of Poynton co. Chester yeoman dcsd for term of lives of Roger Wood, Edward Wood his son and George Shirt son of William Shirt of Shirt co. Chester Gent whereof Edward Wood survives) for term of lives of Francis Stevenson and Elizabeth his wife at 22s. per annum and service of 3 days reaping at harvest and 2 hens at Christmas and a Capon at Easter and the Harriotts and services usual during the last 20 years, with Warranty against all people; of messuages etc. the inheritance of Edward Downes in Worth, Poynton and Adlington co. Chester lately held by Roger Wood and now by Edward Wood, with rights of common, pasture, turbary, houseboot, heyboot, fireboot, wainboot, cartboot, ploughboot, and harrowboot.

Endorsed with memorandum of livery of seisin by Edward Downes 2 March 1663, witnesses John Lowe, Edward Oakes his Mark (a cross in an "O"), Francis Pott.
