Covenant to lead the Use in an estate in trust as from 4 April 1684 created by Surrender in Halmote of Macclesfield 30 April 1683 by Edward Downes to Thomas Dickenson of Salford Lancs Gent and John Soundifoarth of Manchester Lancs Gent of 3 messuages in Potshrigley [Pott Shrigley] called Normansells tenement, Andrewes tenement and Smalles tenement and 3 cottages in Potshrigley [Pott Shrigley] called Pottsbankes, the Arpell Ocke ridge, and the Brines or Brambwells Oacke ridge. This present agreement is made as security for Stevenson who is bound with Downes in Obligations to William Hunt of Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] Alderman date 20 August 1683 for £200 due 20 February 1684, and to William Pott of Bollington Gent date 17 September 1683 for £100 due 17 March 1684 and to Widow Watson of Bollington date 4 October 1683 for £100 due 4 April 1684.
