Covenant to make a Surrender in the Halmote of the Manor and Forest of Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] county of Chester before the Annunciation BVM next ensueing, in consideration of £447 payable by Party 2 to Party 1 within one month after the Surrender, of a messuage and tenement in Ranowe [Rainow] county Chester in the manor and forest of Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] called Over Ingarsley [Over Ingersley] late the customary inheritance of John Shrigley dcsd once held by William Watts and now held by Peter Gaitskell undertenant of Thomas Stafford, and of a piece of common or waste land in Hordern Moor in Ranowe [Rainow], all of which is to be held of the King as lord of Macclesfeild [Macclesfield] at 5s. 4d.per annum.

Endorsed: a receipt date 29 March 1684 signed Tho. Stafford, for the sum of £447, witnessed by Peter Mottrom, John Cowpis, Ann Watts her letters A.W.
